1. Charging the BOT
A/C CHARGING - Open the adapter charging port (10) and plug the A/C adapter into a standard 110V outlet. The CHARGE light (3) on the display panel will start to flash blue. When charging is complete the BOT will start to beep and the CHARGE light will turn solid. Disconnect the A/C adapter and seal the adapter charging port. The CHARGE light will turn off.
SOLAR CHARGING - The BOT needs to be in the sun to solar charge. Place the BOT in the pool. Press and hold the on/off button (2) until it beeps, then release. The solar charging light (4) will start to flash green indicating the BOT is being charged by solar. The BOT will continue to run even after the sun goes down until the charge is depleted unless you turn the unit off. The BOT will auto start on the next day after a few hour of the solar panels (1) being exposed to sunlight.
NOTE: If your pool is not exposed to full sun it is best to first charge the BOT with the A/C adapter.
2. Using the BOT
Once the BOT is charged place it in the pool. Press and hold the on/off button (2) until it beeps, then release. The left and right propulsion fans (11) and rolling brush (13) will start to rotate after approximately 3 seconds. The left and right headlights will start to flash green. To stop the BOT press and hold the on/off button until the BOT beeps, then release.
3. BOT functions
Cleaning mode function
To change the speed of the propulsion fans and roller press and release the on/off button to switch between quick cleaning mode (SPORT) and slow cleaning mode (NORMAL).
Barrier and escape function
When the radar senses obstacles such as the pool wall, it will automatically change direction. When the BOT enters the blind zone or is trapped, it will automatically reverse and turn to escape.
Automatic adjustment of cleaning direction
The BOT will automatically change direction to clean the longest stretch of water.
Self-start function
When the BOT is solar charged it will continue to run even after the sun goes down until the charge is depleted. The BOT will auto start on the next day after a few hour of the solar panels being exposed to sunlight.
Fault prompt function
If the brush motor is blocked or stuck, the tail light will flash red indicating the brush needs to be cleaned or unblocked.
Status Indicators
CHARGE - When using the AC adapter, the CHARGE light on the display panel will start to flash blue. When charging is complete the CHARGE light will turn solid.
SOLAR - When the BOT is in the sun the SOLAR light will start to flash green. When fully charged the SOLAR light will be solid.
NORMAL/SOLAR - The BOT is being solar charged and operating in slow cleaning mode.
SPORT/SOLAR - The BOT is being solar charged and operating in fast cleaning mode.
NORMAL - The BOT is using the A/C charge and operating in slow cleaning mode.
SPORT - The BOT is using the A/C charge and operating in fast cleaning mode.
Installing the feet (optional)
Slide the four feet onto the BOT and secure with screws.
NOTE: Feet are not needed for the BOT to operate. They are used to set the Bot on the surface if necessary to clean out the basket or perform maintenance.
Pool Bot Maintenance
Cleaning the obstacle avoidance sensors
Clean with a non-abrasive cleaner to remove any hard water deposits.
Cleaning the storage basket
Take out the storage basket in the direction of the arrow. Dispose of debris and rinse with clean water. Reinstall the basket.
TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
Issue 1: Front propeller doesn't turn
First check for debris in the propeller and clean out if necessary. If no debris is present, fully charge the Bot with the A/C adapter. Once fully charged set the Bot on the ground and press the ON/OFF button to turn it on. See if the front propeller rotates. If it doesn't then you will need to open the Bot to inspect the propeller. Click HERE to download the instructions. Click HERE to view instructional video on how to remove the Pool Bot cover to access the propellor.
If you find that the gear on the propeller has broken you will need to contact customer service for a replacement. You can click HERE to go to our customer service link and submit a help desk ticket.
Issue 2: Rear propellers don't turn
Check for debris in the propellers and clean out if necessary. If no debris is present, fully charge the Bot with the A/C adapter. Once fully charged set the Bot on the ground and press the ON/OFF button to turn it on. See if the propellers rotate.
Issue 3: Not responding after turning it on
The battery may not be fully charged. Fully charge with the A/C adapter. NOTE: you can also charge the BOT in the sun. However, you will need to have the BOT in full sun to do so. Once the aquired charge level has been reached the BOT will start.
Issue 4: Will not turn on
If the Bot was completely submerged underwater it may affect the performance. Set the Bot right side up in the sun to dry out then try starting it up again.
Issue 5: Won't change direction
The Bot went directly into a wall or blind spot. Wait approximately 3 minutes and the BOT will reverse and then go forward again.
Issue 6: Won't run at night
The Bot will charge during the day when exposed to sunlight. If the BOT did not get enough sunlight during the day to charge the battery it will stop. You will need to charge the BOT with the A/C adapter.
Issue 7: No response when charging
The battery has run to low. Charge with A/C adapter. After approximately 10 minutes the charge will slowly increase and start to register.
Issue 8: Unable to charge Pool Bot with A/C adapter or solar
Although uncommon, sometimes water and/or moisture can get inside the unit which results in the unit being unable to perform correctly. We suggest attempting to dry out the unit to resolve the issue. First, remove the Pool Bot from your pool and remove the basket from the unit. After removing the basket, place the Pool Bot on its side in a sunny spot. You want the Pool Bot to be in the most sunny and warm area to maximize its ability to dry out any moisture that may have gathered inside the unit. It is recommended to leave the unit out in the sun for 1-3 days. After the unit has been drying out for a few days, try plugging it in with the A/C adapter and that charge should now be working.
We found that for customers that ran into this issue this successfully worked to get the bot to charge as normal.
